Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines had the strongest trading day in its history after launching its 2028 cruise program, the second time this year it has broken its own record, the company said in a press release.
“The response to our new 2028 cruise program has been exceptional, with demand exceeding our expectations and delivering the strongest trading day in our history for the second time this year,” said Geoff Ridgeon, head of sales at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines.
Bookings opened Oct. 7, a week after the line unveiled the collection along with an early release of its Scenic Highlights of Canada cruise, which sold out in less than two weeks.
The previous record came in July with the launch of the 87-night Amazon & Antarctica Grand Voyage for 2028.
The program has 39 new cruises departing between January and July 2028, including regional departures from Liverpool, Newcastle, Rosyth and Portsmouth, plus fly-cruise options aboard the line’s smaller ships.
Itineraries range from the Norwegian fjords and British Isles to sailings timed for the Northern Lights, plus fly-cruises to the Mediterranean and Atlantic Islands.
Among the most popular sailings were a 13-night voyage visiting nine Northern European countries, an 18-night cruise to the Italian Riviera and Amalfi Coast, and a 37-night island-hopping trip taking in Bermuda, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico.
Guests who book by Nov. 4 can take advantage of the Freedom Fare Price Promise.
If the price of an equivalent cabin on the same sailing is reduced in the first four weeks after going on sale, guests receive either a cabin upgrade or onboard spending credit, and solo travelers can choose from a selection of cabins with no single supplement.
