Century Cruises’ upcoming European ship, the Century Diamond, has officially been floated out in Kladovo, Serbia.
This major construction milestone marks the completion of the vessel’s hull and the beginning of its next phase: afloat outfitting, the cruise line said in a social media post.
The Diamond, which will be equipped with hybrid propulsion and able to accommodate up to 174 guests in 76 cabins, is scheduled to sail its inaugural voyage in August 2027.
The 135-meter-long ship is the second of four new ships planned for the company’s European fleet.
Its sister ship, the Century Star, embarked on its maiden voyage on the Danube in September.
The Diamond will be based on the Rhine, sailing primarily eight-day voyages between Basel and Amsterdam, while select sailings will venture beyond the traditional Rhine itinerary to other waterways in the company’s European program.
