Celestyal has announced new onboard offerings for the Celestyal Discovery’s first dedicated Western Mediterranean seasons, operating during winter 2026-27 and 2027-28.
Guests can look forward to 13 new shows, regionally inspired menus and activities inspired by the destinations visited, the cruise line said in a statement.
“Being ‘Authentically Mediterranean’ is about the feeling guests take away from their vacation as much as the places they visit,” said John Diorio, vice president and managing director, Celestyal North America.
“As we expand west, we want to carry that spirit with us while embracing the distinct character of each destination. The experience onboard should help guests feel connected to the region, encouraging discovery and giving them more reasons to explore when they step ashore.”
The entertainment program will introduce new shows, including:
- “Pasión Española,” celebrating Spanish music through live singing and dance.
- “Buona Sera Italia,” featuring well-known Italian songs
- “Viva la Mediterranea,” bringing together music from Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and Greece.
As for dining, new menus will be featured across the Thalassa main-dining room and Smoked Olive, along with locally inspired dishes in the Taverna buffet.
Highlights include Portuguese caldo verde, Spanish gazpacho and churros, Italian arancini and Moroccan tagines, as well as a “Royal Moorish” themed dinner buffet accompanying the Casablanca call, while jamón carving will be featured in the Taverna.
Specialty restaurant Grill Seekers will introduce a revised European bistro-style menu, featuring classic starters, fish and seafood, European meat cuts and regional cheeses.
Greek Deli will add regional street food, including Spanish tortillas and patatas bravas, to its signature gyros offering.
This will be accompanied by a selection of Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian wines, along with a new premium Bordeaux collection available in Grill Seekers and Grapevine.
There will also be cooking demonstrations, giving guests an introduction to regional cuisines, as well as destination-focused talks exploring subjects such as Spanish olive oil, the spice trade of Spain and Portugal, Morocco’s argan trees and Pompeii.
As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, the ship’s West Med season will include a 14-night “Mediterranean Odyssey: Spain, Portugal & Morocco” itineraries, which can be split as a seven-night voyage sailing either Barcelona (Tarragona) to Lisbon or Lisbon to Barcelona (Tarragona), and eight-night “Mediterranean Riviera” repositioning voyages between Athens and Barcelona (Tarragona).
