Azamara Cruises will bring its Azamara Forward renovation program to the Azamara Journey during a two-week drydock in November 2028, the company said in a press release.
CEO Dondra Ritzenthaler said the program lets Azamara refresh its ships while staying true to what guests love about sailing with the line, creating spaces where they can connect, enjoy dining and entertainment and feel at home between destinations.
The ship is scheduled to enter drydock Nov. 16 and leave Nov. 30, receiving upgrades across dining, entertainment, staterooms, suites and public spaces.
Planned changes include a reimagined Discoveries Restaurant, a dedicated Chef’s Table experience, a new Atlas Bar offering, a transformed Cabaret Lounge and a complete refresh of the Sanctum Spa.
The Penthouse Deck will remain exclusive to the Azamara Quest and will not be added to the Azamara Journey, as previously announced.
The program is already underway.
The Azamara Quest is set to debut its enhancements after a drydock in November 2026, with its first sailing after the renovation scheduled to depart Dec. 18, 2026, and the Azamara Onward is planned to receive its upgrades in 2027.
After the work on the Azamara Journey is finished, the ship will debut its refreshed spaces on Nov. 30, 2028, on a 12-night Greece and Egypt sailing that departs from and returns to Athens. Azamara said more details on the sailing and booking availability will be shared in the coming weeks as it opens the deployment for sale.
