The AIDAmar will operate AIDA’s first world cruise from Warnemünde in 2028, the company said in a statement
Setting sail on November 3, 2028, the 142-day cruise will visit 51 ports in 19 countries on five continents, ending in Hamburg on March 25, 2029.
The ship will cross the equator twice and the date line once during the four-and-a-half-month voyage, paired with 12 overnight stays giving guests additional time to discover selected destinations.
South America and South Seas
From Warnemünde, the route leads to Isle of Portland, A Coruna, Gran Canaria and Santiago before crossing to Recife, Brazil.
In South America, highlights include Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, Tierra del Fuego, the Cape Horn Passage and the fjord and glacier landscapes of Patagonia.
From there, the AIDAmar sets course for Easter Island and the South Seas, with Christmas spent in French Polynesia, and on the Fiji island of Suva for New Year’s Eve.
New Zealand and Australia
In New Zealand, guests get to know the North and South Islands on one trip, with the route visiting six ports, including Auckland, Napier, Wellington and Picton, among others.
Scenic highlights are the passage through Marlborough Sound and the fjord world of Milford Sound.
The Australian portion visits 11 ports, which is more than any AIDA cruise before, according to the statement.
This includies Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns and Geraldton, with overnight stays in Sydney, Darwin, Broome and Perth/Fremantle.
Back to Europe via the Indian Ocean and Africa
After circumnavigating Australia, the voyage leads through the Indian Ocean to Mauritius and La Réunion.
Longer layovers in places such as Port Louis in Mauritius, Gqeberha and Cape Town in South Africa and Walvis Bay in Namibia open opportunities for safaris, desert experiences and excursions around Table Mountain.
Another highlight is the circumnavigation of the Cape of Good Hope, after which the AIDAmar sets course for Europe via Cape Verde.
Prices start at €20,995 euros per person. This is a Premium price per person for two-person occupancy (inside cabin IB), including a €4,000 Early Bird Plus discount.
The 2026-27 edition of AIDA’s world cruise set sail from Hamburg on October 18 aboard the AIDAsol.
