Adventure Canada has announced it is expanding its 2028 expedition portfolio with new journeys through the Canadian Arctic, Northern Europe and Antarctica.
The collection introduces a new eastern gateway voyage to the Northwest Passage, a North Atlantic expedition linking Iceland and the Faroe Islands and a new Antarctica Peninsula voyage, alongside the return of favorites.
The 2028 program builds on Adventure Canada’s focus on small-ship expedition travel, the company said in a press release.
Canadian Arctic
The 2028 collection has a new shorter “Northwest Passage: Eastern Gateway” journey, with one departure in July and another in August.
Sailing aboard the Ocean Victory, the 13-day expedition explores Greenland’s west coast, including the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord, before spending five days among the wildlife-rich waters of Tallurutiup Imanga, with visits to Ikpiarjuk (Arctic Bay) and Beechey Island, and ending in Qausuittuq (Resolute), Nunavut. The August sailing follows the reverse route.
The Passage in a New Light
Among the 2028 highlights, Adventure Canada’s “Out of the Northwest Passage” expedition will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the St. Roch, an RCMP schooner that was the first vessel to traverse the Passage from west to east, launched for Arctic service.
New Northern Europe Itinerary
Another new addition for 2028 is the “Iceland & the Faroe Islands: Islands Born of Fire and Sea” expedition.
Sailing aboard the Ocean Victory, the 11-day voyage starts and ends in Reykjavík, circumnavigating Iceland.
Guests will visit the Westfjords, Grímsey, Húsavík, eastern Iceland, and Heimaey in Iceland.
New Antarctica Expedition
Adventure Canada’s 2028 program also introduces new ways to explore Antarctica, going deeper into the White Continent with its new “Antarctic Peninsula: An Explorer’s Expedition.”
The 11-day voyage sails from Ushuaia across the Drake Passage to the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula.
Guided by experienced expedition leaders, each day unfolds according to weather, wildlife and ice conditions.
The 2028 program also brings back favorites, including:
- “Greenland & Wild Labrador: A Torngat Mountains Adventure”
- “Newfoundland Circumnavigation”
- “Sable Island – Wild Horses and Outpost Legacy”
- “Scotland, The Faroe Islands & Iceland – North Atlantic Saga”
- “High Arctic Expedition – Where Art Meets Land,” and
- “Ellesmere Island and North Greenland: Journey to the Top of the World.”
