Adora Cruises has announced that on October 1, nearly 600 crew members boarded the Adora Flora City.
The company said in a press release that the core management staff, including the captain, chief engineer and hotel director, have taken their posts.
All crew members will receive specialized training in service standards, maritime regulations, safety fundamentals and the new ship’s products.
The Adora Flora City will employ nearly 1,300 crew members, with the remaining crew joining before the maiden voyage.
Chen Ranfeng, CEO of Adora Cruises, said: “The first batch of crew members joining today come from more than 20 countries and all possess extensive experience in international cruise operations and services.”
“The first captain of the Adora Magic City, Niklas Peterstam, and the first Chinese captain, Wei Zhiyi, will take turns serving as captains of the ship,” added Ranfeng.
“We believe that this highly qualified, professional and international team is the solid foundation for ensuring the smooth operation of the Adora Flora City.”
Following their boarding, the staff will test onboard systems and equipment, review passenger and operational flows, set up service scenarios and check supplies. They will also ensure the ship meets the standards required for formal operation.
The Adora Flora City is scheduled for delivery on November 6, 2026, and will begin its maiden voyage from Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Home Port on November 22.
As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, Olympic diving champion Guo Jingjing officially named the Adora Flora City at the maiden-voyage ceremony.
Adora Cruises operates the Adora Magic City, Adora Mediterranea and Adora Flora City, which will make its maiden voyage on November 22. Its itinerary covers East, South and North China, as well as Hong Kong.
