UnCruise Adventures has opened bookings for its expedition itineraries in Baja, Mexico’s Gulf of California, in 2027 and 2028.

Sailing aboard the 66-guest Safari Voyager, the two itineraries are designed around active participation with local communities, including expedition guides from the area and locally sourced and produced food and beverages.

The Romero family in Bahía Agua Verde brings its mules and horses to meet the ship and take guests on a ride through the arroyo.

The cruise line even supports the local lizards through vegetable scraps donated to The Serpentarium, a zoological park in La Paz dedicated to the conservation of endemic species.

“We keep our operations and money directed locally as much as possible because it enriches the experience, plus our travel ethos is to support the local people,” said owner and CEO Captain Dan Blanchard.

“That means we hire local guides who know these waters, purchase locally, visit smaller communities and stay long enough to have a conversation. That’s how visitors become part of an economic engine instead of just a transaction.”

The two itineraries are:

• Baja California’s Whales & Sealife (January–March 2027 and 2028)

This eight-night itinerary roundtrip from San José del Cabo includes sea lion pup snorkeling, volcanic hiking, search for whales, flying mobula rays and seabirds.

The February 11, 2027, departure is a Families in Nature trip with a focus on activities for younger kids.

For photographers, the voyage departing on January 21, 2027, is hosted by a professional photographer.

• In Steinbeck’s Wake: An Epic Voyage Through the Sea of Cortez (April and May 2027 and 2028)

This 11-night sailing roundtrip from San José del Cabo is an extended exploration named for author John Steinbeck’s 1940s voyage. It ventures further north with opportunities to see sperm whales, humpbacks, gray whales and whale sharks.

The May 21, 2027, departure will be Captain’s Cruise, an exclusive sailing hosted by Captain Blanchard.

The voyage will explore marine life at historic sites such as Punta Marcial and include snorkeling and whale watching around Isla Catalina.

It also features activities including kayaking, hiking and snorkeling at spots like Punta Trinidad, Bahia de los Angeles and Isla Espiritu Santo.

Guests who book a cruise by December 31, 2026, can save $500 per person on all 2027 and 2028 departures.

Furthermore, beginning in 2027, a hotel stay is included at the Tropicana Hotel in San Jose del Cabo for the first night, with guests being transported to the ship on day two.
