Scenic Discovery Yachts will operate a series of discovery voyages through Chile and Patagonia’s fjords aboard the Scenic Eclipse in 2027.
The cruise line said in a press release that guests can expect helicopter flightseeing, submersible dives and expert-led Zodiac exploration in what it describes as one of the world’s most unique and undiscovered coastlines.
They will be able to discover the island of Chiloé and its brightly painted houses, encounter wildlife including humpback and blue whales, Magellanic and Humboldt penguins, sea lions and Andean condors, and see hanging glaciers and narrow channels including Puerto Edén and the English Narrows.
“Luxury today isn’t about finding somewhere that still has the power to leave you speechless. The Chilean Fjords are one of the last great wildernesses on Earth,” said Jason Flesher, Scenic Group’s director of discovery operations.
“Here, glaciers the color of blue crystal tumble into pristine waterways, condors glide between the jagged towering peaks of Patagonia within the Andes and the silence is broken only by the crack of ancient ice, an Andean fox hunting its next meal or the breath of a passing whale. Whether you’re exploring hidden coves by Zodiac or soaring above the fjords by helicopter, every perspective reveals another extraordinary layer of this remarkable coastline.
Scenic noted that a limited number of expedition voyages into this region remains for the 2027 season, with key departures including:
