Riverside Luxury Cruises has introduced three Riverside Active cycling sailings aboard the Riverside Mozart in 2027.

The first, a seven-night journey from Passau to Vienna, July 22-29, is followed by a seven-night journey from Vienna to Budapest, July 29 to August 5.

The company said in a press release that travelers can book either sailing or combine the two for a 14-night Passau to Budapest journey, July 22 to August 5, with up to 405 miles of cycling along the Danube Cycle Path.

Each day brings a different stretch of the Danube Cycle Path, with routes ranging from 18 to 62 miles, according to the press release.

Cyclists can borrow an e-bike from Riverside Mozart’s fleet, or bring their own, with onboard storage available. An expert cycling guide and safety vehicle support all rides.

Riverside said that the rides are as varied as the river itself. Cyclists follow the Danube through the Wachau Valley, tackle the Schlögen Loop, a dramatic 180-degree bend in the river, and ride through the Danube Bend toward Visegrád while taking in the sights of vineyards, villages and historic sites along the way.

In the Wachau, for example, cyclists can ride from Melk to Dürnstein, while in other ports they can choose to explore by bike or join a Riverside Choice excursion instead.

At the end of each ride, Riverside Mozart is waiting at the end of each day.

The company said that guests ride as much or as little as they like each day, and a day off the bike is easy: Riverside Mozart continues to the next port, where guests can choose from Riverside Choice excursions.

If a cyclist starts a ride and decides not to continue, the support vehicle can transport the guest and bicycle to the next port.

One guest can spend the day cycling through the Wachau Valley while a companion explores a destination, joins an excursion or enjoys the ship. They come back together for dinner and continue the journey.

The full 14-night itinerary also includes a VIP, after-hours evening at Vienna’s Belvedere Palace, with a private musical performance and an opportunity to view Klimt’s The Kiss without the usual crowds.

Pricing on the seven-night sailings starts at $5,081 per person based on double occupancy, and pricing on the 14-night sailing starts at $10,161 per person, double.
