Renaissance Partners (RP) has signed a binding agreement to acquire De Wave Group (De Wave) from Platinum Equity.
According to a press release, De Wave’s management will reinvest substantially all of the proceeds received from the sale alongside RP, which is said to reflect a shared confidence in the next phase of development.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory conditions (Antitrust and Golden Power clearances) and is expected to close in Q4 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Riccardo Pompili, Group CEO, De Wave, said: “De Wave approaches this transaction from a position of real strength — twelve years of building, from three separate businesses, the only fully integrated partner for marine interiors, with 1,400 people and the trust of the world’s leading shipyards and cruise operators.
“In Renaissance Partners we found a partner with a genuine understanding of our industry and the ambition to build De Wave into an even stronger global platform. Our reinvestment reflects our confidence in the business and our commitment to the journey ahead”.
Headquartered in Genoa, De Wave serves as a one-stop shop for shipyards and cruise operators across the full scope of a ship interior, working on newbuild and refit projects.
Its offering spans cabins, bathrooms, public areas, catering areas and glazing solutions, alongside selected energy-efficient technical systems such as HVAC, refrigeration and electrical systems.
Renaissance Partners will support De Wave’s management in accelerating the Group’s development.
The value creation plan will focus on five aspects:
- further strengthening De Wave Group’s global position,
- expanding its presence across cruise ships, large yachts refit and adjacent marine segments,
- pursuing targeted strategic acquisitions,
- enhancing operational excellence and ESG performance, and
- continuing to develop the Group as the preferred one-stop-shop partner for the global maritime interiors industry.
“De Wave is a rare combination of market leadership, exceptional visibility and resilience, with significant potential ahead. Alongside an outstanding management team, we see a clear opportunity to strengthen the Group’s global leadership, expand into large yachts and adjacent marine segments, and pursue selective acquisitions. We are delighted to partner with them in building the next chapter of De Wave’s growth,” noted Tommaso De Bustis, partner, Renaissance Partners.
