Princess Cruises adjusted the itinerary of the November 22, 2026, cruise onboard the Sun Princess to remove a planned visit to Princess Cays.

According to a statement sent to booked passengers, the ship will no longer sail to the private island destination in Eleuthera, the Bahamas.

Princess added that, instead, the seven-night cruise to the Eastern Caribbean will now feature a stop in Relax Away, Half Moon Cay.

Sailing roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale, the Sun Princess is also scheduled to make calls to Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic, San Juan in Puerto Rico and Grand Turk in Turks & Caicos.

In its statement, Princess said that Relax Away, Half Moon Cay offers guests an expanded Bahamian experience, allowing them to “make the most of their day ashore.”

Originally owned by Holland America Line, the private island destination was recently enhanced with a new pier and more features.

According to the company, any shore excursion booked for Princess Cays will be automatically refunded to the original form of payment.

Princess added that new tours for Relax Away, Half Moon Cay are being added to its website and will be available within two weeks.

Located on the southernmost tip of Eleuthera Island, Princess Cays has been welcoming Princess ships since 1991.

Unlike other private destinations in the Bahamas, the cruise port was originally developed along a resort in partnership with an investment company and offers connectivity ashore.

The destination underwent renovations and enhancements in early 2018, gaining refurbished retail and bar areas, new shopping options and renewed landscaping.

In addition to serving as a call for Princess ships during itineraries to the Caribbean, Princess Cays also welcomes Carnival Cruise Line ships sailing to the Bahamas. Through the end of 2026, seven Carnival vessels are scheduled to call at the port.
