PortMiami welcomed its 10 millionth cruise passenger on Sept. 14, surpassing the previous fiscal year record of 8,564,225 cruise passengers with two weeks still remaining in the port’s fiscal year, which runs Oct. 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2026.
Jonathan Daniels, port director and chief executive officer, said the achievement reflected the work of the port’s staff and its cruise and port partners.
“Reaching 10 million passengers reflects our focus on innovation, efficiency and superior passenger experience, as we continue to modernize PortMiami’s infrastructure and expand our capacity for future growth,” Daniels said.
The figure now marks the highest annual passenger volume in the port’s history, according to PortMiami.
It credits strong global demand for Miami based sailings, investments in cruise terminals and the continued expansion of it’s cruise line offerings for the milestone.
“Breaking the 10 million passenger threshold is a testament to PortMiami’s unwavering dedication to service, sustainability and economic vitality,” said Daniella Levine Cava, Miami-Dade County mayor.
“This extraordinary milestone underscores our port’s role as a global gateway and a driver of job creation, tourism and local business growth.”
Recently completed and upgraded terminals that are capable of accommodating the largest cruise ships in the world played a major role in reaching the milestone, the port said.
