Legendary DJ Pete Tong brought his signature Ibiza sound to the Arvia, playing a 90-minute set for more than 900 P&O Cruises guests in the ship’s SkyDome, while the ship was docked at Botafoc Pier.

The performance took place during the Arvia’s 14-night western Mediterranean cruise, and it gave guests a chance to see Tong perform on the island that’s still most closely tied to his whole career, according to the cruise line.

“I’m still thinking about Saturday night,” Tong said. “I loved playing in the SkyDome on Arvia. Thanks to everyone who came along and made it so special.”

Paul Ludlow, president of Carnival UK and P&O Cruises, said bringing Tong to Ibiza gave guests something they honestly wouldn’t expect to find on a cruise holiday.

“Pete has played such an important role in shaping the global dance music scene, and having him perform exclusively for P&O Cruises in Arvia’s SkyDome felt like a perfect fit,” Ludlow said.

“We’re always looking for ways to surprise and delight our guests with experiences they wouldn’t expect to find on a cruise holiday.”

Guests were also served Hierbas Ibicencas, alongside Ibiza-inspired cocktails and regional dishes over in the ship’s Sunset Bar.

The SkyDome, which is a glass-enclosed poolside venue, has previously hosted performances from the Arvia’s own godmother, Nicole Scherzinger, as well as Take That’s Gary Barlow too.

The performance came about partway through the Arvia’s round trip western Mediterranean holiday, a holiday that departed Southampton on Sept. 13 and called at La Coruña, Malaga, Alicante, Ibiza, Marseille, Barcelona and then Cadiz.
