Cruise Vacations has unveiled the Close to Home Collection, a curated portfolio of voyages that offers global cruise experiences within easier reach of South African travelers.
The travel agency said in a statement that the voyages sail to and from Cape Town to the islands of the Indian Ocean. The collection also celebrates the cruising opportunities available closer to South African shores.
“Heritage Month is about honoring where we come from,” says Gaynor Neill, owner of Cruise Vacations.
“This collection showcases South Africa not only as a destination worth celebrating, but as a launchpad to some of the most remarkable journeys on earth,” added Neill.
“Cape Town is the natural anchor, sometimes the beginning, sometimes the finale, and often the point where one adventure seamlessly flows into the next.”
According to the agency, the voyages bring together luxury sailings from Silversea, Swan Hellenic and Emerald Yachts, offering itineraries that focus on a slower pace and deeper exploration.
The highlights include:
- Silversea’s “Three Oceans World Cruise,” a 149-night global odyssey, with its South African chapter connecting Mahe to Cape Town and Cape Town to Dakar
- Silver Muse’s 20-night Voyage from Lisbon to Cape Town, followed by a 22-night Sailing from Cape Town to Mumbai
- Swan Hellenic’s Antarctic Expeditions, voyages linking South Africa to one of the planet’s most remote regions, and
- Emerald Cruises’ “Boutique Yacht Voyages,” eight-day round-trip itineraries in the Seychelles aboard the Emerald Kaia.
The agency added that to celebrate Heritage Month, Cruise Vacations is also rewarding the travel trade with a series of agent incentives throughout September.
Travel partners will have the chance to win Takealot vouchers, with rewards tied to featured sailings and promotional activities across the campaign.
