The Costa Diadema is sailing to the Mediterranean after spending most of the summer cruising in Northern Europe.

The Costa Cruises vessel kicked off a repositioning voyage to Italy earlier this month, after spending the past four months sailing from Germany.

Sailing between Kiel and Savona, the 12-night cruise features visits to eight destinations in six countries, including Denmark, Norway, France and Spain.

The ship will initially offer short cruises in the Mediterranean before kicking off a series of ten- and 11-night itineraries to Western Europe in late September.

Passengers will be able to board the Costa Diadema in multiple ports, including Savona, Italy; Marseille, France; and Cadiz, Barcelona, and Málaga, Spain.

The itineraries will also feature visits to destinations in Portugal, Morocco and the United Kingdom, such as Lisbon, Casablanca and Gibraltar.

Before repositioning to the Mediterranean, the 3,700-passenger ship offered cruises to the Norwegian Fjords and Denmark departing from Germany.

Sailing from Kiel, the seven-night itineraries were highlighted by visits to Copenhagen, Bergen, Stavanger, Flam, Alesund, Geiranger, Haugesund and Hellesylt.

In early November, the Costa Diadema embarks on a trans-Atlantic crossing to Brazil ahead of a winter season in South America.

The 21-night repositioning voyage sails from Savona to Santos, visiting destinations in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Cape Verde and Brazil.

Ports of call set to welcome the 2014-built ship include Barcelona, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Lisbon, Mindelo, Maceió, and Salvador.

Sailing in the region alongside the Costa Serena, the vessel is scheduled to offer a series of three- to seven-night cruises to Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay in 2026-27.

The season runs through April and includes itineraries departing from Santos, Itajaí, Buenos Aires and Montevideo.

Upon arriving in Europe in May, the 132,500-ton ship kicks off another summer season in the Norwegian Fjords.
