The Wind Spirit is scheduled to offer a new getaway voyage after completing the second phase of its “Setting Sails” refit in Spring 2027.

According to Windstar’s email marketing, the new sailing will offer guests an opportunity to be among the first to experience the vessel’s new features.

The short cruise features visits to destinations in Spain, Morocco and the United Kingdom, including Almería, Gibraltar and Tangier.

Sailing roundtrip from the port of Málaga, the four-night itinerary is scheduled to depart on March 7, 2027.

Windstar said that the new cruise offers opportunities to visit the Picasso Museum in Málaga, as well as the Moorish fortress of Alcazaba in Almería.

Other highlights of the itinerary are the wartime tunnels in Gibraltar, in addition to open-air markets and centuries-old walls in Tangier.

Completing Windstar’s “Setting Sails” modernization initiative, the Wind Spirit will enter drydock in Europe in early 2027.

The project is aimed at refreshing the company’s sailing ships and includes updates to staterooms and public areas, including spas and gathering spaces.

As part of the refit, the Wind Spirit will introduce a reimagined Amphora restaurant with new flooring, wall finishes and ceiling treatments, along with custom banquette seating and updated furnishings.

Other significant upgrades will take place in cabins, which will feature new upholstered headboards, integrated lighting and bedside charging.

Following its refit, the 1988-built ship will kick off a year-round operation in Europe that includes itineraries to the Mediterranean, the Aegean, the Canaries and more.

The Wind Star was the first ship to complete the refurbishment, resuming service earlier this year in Europe.

According to Windstar, the updated 148-passenger vessel has earned some of the highest guest ratings in its fleet following the refit.

The Wind Surf is scheduled to complete a similar revitalization before the Wind Spirit, introducing an updated design in December 2026.
