Tauck has announced the Harmonie, the newest riverboat set to join its fleet in France in 2028.

Custom-built for cruising the Rhône, it will be able to accommodate up to 130 guests, according to a company statement.

Sister ship to the Lumière, the Harmonie will double the company’s capacity on the river, sailing itineraries such as Savoring France: Paris, Lyon & Provence

“River cruising continues to be one of the most popular ways guests first experience Tauck, and the feedback our river guests have shared over the years shapes every ship we build,” said Tauck CEO Jennifer Tombaugh.

“The name Harmonie, which carries the same meaning in French and English, speaks to what we hope guests feel on board and along the river: a sense of balance, ease and connection to the places we explore.”

The ship’s Sun Deck will feature a swimming pool, full-service bar and shaded day beds for open-air dining and afternoons on the river.

On the upper Diamond Deck, an expanded wellness area called The Retreat will offer a fitness center, massage treatment room and lounge framed by floor-to-ceiling windows.

Arthur’s, the ship’s casual dining venue, will boast panoramic views of the passing landscape, paired with sky-lit atriums and 300-square-foot Tauck Suites and lounges.

This is the latest in a multi-phase investment in Tauck’s river fleet, which will add new capacity while the company retires two older vessels. 

Between 2026 and 2028, five new riverboats will be introduced: the Lumière and Serene, which debuted in 2026 following their christening ceremonies in March; the Reverie and Saudade, arriving in 2027; and the Harmonie in 2028.  

The company expects its river cruising capacity to grow by more than 50 percent by 2028, supported by a broader portfolio of shoulder-season departures. 

Tauck said that guests can now book their 2028 cruises with the reassurance of getting a full refund of their deposits in case of cancellation when pricing and final itinerary details are announced later this fall.
