Royal Caribbean changed the itinerary of an upcoming cruise onboard the Spectrum of the Seasin Asia.

According to a statement sent to booked guests, the affected sailing is scheduled to depart from Shanghai on October 11, 2027.

After departing from its Chinese homeport, the vessel is scheduled to offer a ten-night cruise that ends in Yokohama, Japan.

According to Royal Caribbean, the original itinerary was adjusted as it “continues to fine-tune” its product and schedule.

“To provide you with the best possible cruise experience, we’ll now visit Jeju (Seogwipo), instead of Seoul (Incheon), South Korea,” the company stated.

As part of the itinerary change, the Spectrum is scheduled to arrive at the new port of call at 6:00 AM, remaining docked until 6:00 PM.

“Additionally, we’ve added a visit to Fukuoka, Japan, and will arrive at 7:00 AM and depart at 6:45 PM,” Royal Caribbean added.

All other itinerary details, which feature visits to four other destinations, remain unchanged, the company continued.

“We appreciate your understanding and trust you’ll have an amazing time with us,” Royal Caribbean said.

Shore excursions for the dropped port of call are expected to be cancelled with full refunds issued to the original forms of payment.

In addition to Jeju and Fukuoka, the cruise will also sail to Sakaiminato, Hakodate and Sapporo (Muroran) before ending with an overnight in Yokohama.

After arriving at the cruise terminal near Tokyo, the Spectrum of the Seas is scheduled to embark on a repositioning voyage to Hong Kong.

The 2019-built vessel will spend most of the 2027-28 winter sailing from the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal for four- to 11-night cruises to Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea.

Sailing in Asia on a year-round basis, the ship is scheduled to return to Shanghai in January 2028, kicking off a new series of short cruises to Japan and South Korea.
