The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection bartender Bagus Atmaja has won first place at the 2026 Tales of the Cocktail Foundation World Class Cruise Competition.
Created specifically for cruise hospitality professionals, the competition brings together bartenders representing leading cruise lines from across the globe, according to a statement.
The title was awarded following the live finals in Cancún, Mexico, on July 30, where eight of the world’s best cruise bartenders faced a high-pressure challenge.
Atmaja described the win as an incredible honor.
“Representing The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection throughout this competition has been a privilege, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to showcase the creativity, care, and craftsmanship that go into every cocktail we serve,” he said.
“I look forward to bringing this inspiration back onboard and continuing to create memorable moments for our guests at sea.”
Throughout the competition, Atmaja showed creativity, technical skill and thoughtful approach to flavor and storytelling, demonstrating his ability to translate Japanese culinary inspiration into the glass.
His standout serves were Kaikō, a refined twist on the classic Gimlet, and Ichigo Ichie Highball, combining Johnnie Walker Black Label with ginger, coriander, delicate spice and fine carbonation.
Atmaja will next represent the cruise industry at the World Class Global Competition, taking place October 18-24 in Edinburgh.
