John Heald Celebrates 39 Years with Carnival

John Heald - 39 Years

Carnival Cruise Line recently celebrated its Brand Ambassador John Heald, who marked 39 years of service with the company.

According to a social media update, an event was held onboard the Carnival Vista in late July to honor the achievement.

Heald was welcomed by the vessel’s Captain, Chief Engineer, Hotel Director and all other senior officers, who presented him with a commemorative plaque.

“I am not sure how to describe how I felt but among the emotions were pride, humility and the realization that I am so very lucky to have been on this Carnival Cruise Line journey for so long,” he stated.

The company’s team highlighted Heald’s trajectory, noting that his “passion, humor and dedication have created unforgettable memories for millions of guests.”

He was said to “have inspired countless team members around the world,” creating a “lasting impact” for the company and “everyone who had the privilege of being part of this journey.”

As part of the celebration, officers added that the brand ambassador has always kept the Carnival spirit alive, creating a legacy of dedication and loyalty.

Heald originally joined Carnival as a bar waiter, starting his onboard career in the late 1980s. He later moved to the entertainment department, becoming a cruise director in 1990.

Before becoming the company’s senior cruise director, Heald led the entertainment onboard various newbuilds, including the Carnival Destiny, which was the largest cruise ship at the time it debuted in 1996.

As Brand Ambassador, the former cruise director runs a special profile on social media, sharing Carnival updates and answering guests’ questions.

Earlier this year, Heald announced that he intends to reduce his online presence to spend more time onboard.

“I really do want to be where I’m so very happy,” he said in a video at the time, mentioning his connection with guests and crew.
