The Eastern Venus has featured as the principal cruise ship and one of the main filming locations for the Korean action-comedy film “OK Madam 2,” which was released in South Korea on August 12, 2026.
Eastern Cruises said that part of the story and its action sequences take place aboard the vessel, as the movie is largely set during a cruise voyage.
Filming aboard the Eastern Venus took place for approximately two weeks in November 2025.
Filming areas included passenger and public areas as well as exterior deck spaces.
The vessel also appears in the film under its actual name, the Eastern Venus.
According to Eastern Cruises, the ship is not simply used as a background location; rather, it plays an important part of the setting in the film.
The Eastern Venus is currently deployed on regional cruise itineraries from South Korea.
The ship previously operated in the Japanese cruise market as Pacific Venus before entering service with Eastern Cruise.
The ship currently operates primarily between Korean ports and destinations in Japan and other parts of Northeast Asia.
According to Eastern Cruises, cruising remains a developing vacation segment in the Korean outbound travel market, and featuring an actual cruise ship as the main setting of a nationally released commercial film provides broad public exposure to the cruise environment.
The project also allows audiences to see actual onboard spaces and the atmosphere of a cruise ship through mainstream entertainment production.
