Carnival Cruise Line announced in a statement that the company celebrated local high school students who graduated from the brand’s Fun-ternship Program in Long Beach, Baltimore and Norfolk.
The graduation took place on Saturday, August 15, 2026. The “Funterns” received a certificate of completion and joined the Carnival Cruise Line team onboard for a celebratory lunch.
Carnival Cruise Line’s Fun-ternship Program, which returned for a second year, aims to give high school students hands-on experience in cruise terminal operations at six U.S. homeports.
Throughout the eight-week program, students got a behind-the-scenes look at how Carnival’s cruise operations run at the Port of Long Beach while building real-world skills and exploring careers in travel and hospitality.
According to the statement, this program is part of the company’s ongoing investment in the communities, aimed at building pathways into the growing cruise and hospitality industry for local youth.
