Holland America Line is opening bookings for its 2028 Alaska season.  

The season features cruises ranging from seven to 18 days sailing roundtrip from Seattle and Vancouver, between Vancouver and Whittier, and on a new voyage from San Diego to Vancouver.  

Operating the itineraries will be the Oosterdam, sailing its first Alaska season following its Evolution upgrades, as well as the Noordam, Eurodam, Koningsdam, Westerdam and Zaandam. 

The Oosterdam will also serve as the primary ship for the cruise line’s Alaska Cruisetours, the details of which will be announced at a later date.

“What has always set Holland America Line apart in Alaska is our ability to combine the iconic experiences guests dream about with opportunities to see the destination in ways they haven’t before,” said Paul Grigsby, vice president of revenue planning and deployment for Holland America Line.

“Our 2028 season reflects that approach, pairing the Alaska highlights guests expect with a collection of distinctive experiences, from rare itineraries and lesser-traveled waterways to new ways of enjoying the journey onboard. It’s a season designed to give guests an even deeper connection to Alaska.”

The cruise line highlighted two new itineraries:

• 11-day California to Alaska: Shores, Fjords & Glaciers (Zaandam), sailing from San Diego to Vancouver, departing April 29, 2028.
• 16-day Great Bear Rainforest & Alaska Explorer (Oosterdam), sailing roundtrip from Vancouver, departing April 28, 2028.

Furthermore, select Great Alaska Explorer and Great Bear Rainforest voyages will include scenic cruising through Nootka Sound for the first time in Holland America Line history.

The remote waterway on Vancouver Island’s west coast is rarely featured on ocean cruise itineraries and offers a different perspective on the Pacific Northwest, the cruise line said.

Itinerary Highlights:

• 14-day Great Alaska Explorer (Noordam), roundtrip from Seattle, departing June 4 and Aug. 20, 2028.
• 18-day Great Bear Rainforest & Alaska Explorer (Zaandam), roundtrip from Vancouver, departing Sept. 13, 2028.
• seven-day Glacier Discovery (Oosterdam and Eurodam), sailing between Vancouver and Whittier (Anchorage), with 36 departures during the 2028 season.
• seven-day Alaska Inside Passage (Koningsdam, Zaandam and Oosterdam), roundtrip from Vancouver, with 46 departures during the 2028 season.
• seven-day Alaska Explorer (Westerdam and Noordam), roundtrip from Seattle, with 45 departures during the 2028 season.
