Azamara Journey on 30-Night Path of the Vikings Cruise

Azamara Journey

The Azamara Journey sailed from Copenhagen in late July to kick off Azamara’s “Path of the Vikings” combination cruise.

Sailing between Denmark and Canada, the 30-night voyage is scheduled to visit destinations across Northern Europe, the Arctic and North America.

The cruise started with calls to ports in Scandinavia, such as Oslo and Kristiansand in Norway, before heading to the Faroe Islands and Iceland.

The Azamara Journey then visited four destinations in the island country, including Reykjavik and Isafjord, before heading to Greenland.

The month-long itinerary featured visits to three destinations in the Danish territory: Nanortalik, Paamiut and Nuuk.

Before ending the cruise in Montreal in late August, the 718-passenger ship is also scheduled to visit ports in Canada.

Highlights of the segment include an overnight call to Quebec City, as well as visits to St. John’s, St. Pierre et Miquelon and Saguenay.

After concluding the longer cruise, the Azamara Journey is scheduled to offer a series of 16-night cruises that sail between Montreal and Reykjavik.

The itineraries feature visits to a range of destinations in Canada, Greenland and Iceland, including Havre-Saint-Pierre, Qaqortoq and Grundarfjordur.

In late September, the vessel kicks off a fall foliage season in Canada and New England, offering open-jaw itineraries that sail between Montreal and New York.

The Journey is later scheduled to reposition to the Caribbean ahead of launching a winter season in South America in early 2027.

The schedule is highlighted by a 74-night itinerary that sails roundtrip from Miami and includes calls to ports in the Caribbean, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Peru and Panama.

The cruise also features scenic cruising in Antarctica, with planned visits to Paradise Bay and the Antarctic Peninsula.

In late March, the Azamara Journey repositions to Europe ahead of a summer season sailing in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
