Holland America Line announced in a press release that the Zuiderdam will be the second of six ships to undergo its Evolution program, following the Oosterdam.
The ship will feature refreshed accommodations enhancements, adding a reimagined Pinnacle Suite, two new Bridgeview Suites, 14 Vista Suites and 32 Solo Verandah staterooms.
This forms part of the cruise line’s largest fleet update in its 153-year history.
“We’ve seen strong interest in our Bridgeview Suites and Solo Verandahs on Oosterdam, and we’re excited to make these new accommodations available on Zuiderdam,” said Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line.
“We’re building on that momentum and look forward to sharing more details, including itineraries, very soon.”
Guests will be able to book voyages aboard the Zuiderdam following its Evolution transformation starting July 30.
The company also unveiled renderings for the upgraded accommodations for the first time, including:
- Bridgeview Suites: two suites located above the bridge offering forward-facing views with wraparound windows, a private balcony and separate living and sleeping spaces.

- Solo Verandahs: purpose-built staterooms designed for solo travelers, each featuring a private balcony and a living space tailored to one guest.

- Vista Suites: light-filled accommodations with a sitting area, oversized windows and a private verandah.
- Reimagined Pinnacle Suite: the most expansive accommodations onboard, redesigned to offer a residential-style experience with spacious living space and panoramic ocean views.

In addition to accommodation enhancements, the ship will get the Grand Dutch Café, an all-day gathering place, inspired by cafés throughout Amsterdam and Northern Europe.
The venue aboard the Zuiderdam will be the largest introduced as part of the Evolution program, the cruise line added.

The Oosterdam recently debuted its Evolution transformation upgrades, and bookings are now open for its first collection of post-refurbishment voyages.
