Viking Chairman Joins Crew for ‘Viking Row’ Ahead of World Cup Match

Hagen Viking row

Viking employees and guests have rallied behind the Norwegian national soccer team throughout the ongoing FIFA World Cup run, supporting the team at gatherings in cities from Oslo to Boston.

Last week, Viking Executive Chairman Torstein Hagen joined the crew of the Viking Vela in Oslo to perform the “Viking Row,” a chant inspired by ancient seafaring traditions, designed to evoke the rowing of a Viking ship.

“On behalf of the entire Viking family, we are sending good luck and positive energy to our partner, the Norwegian Football Association, and the Norwegian national team as they face off today on the world stage,” Viking’s social media post reads.

The cruise line announced its partnership with the Norwegian Football Federation last year.
