Tianjin International Cruise Homeport entered its peak summer operations in late June, marked by the concurrent deployment of the Adora Mediterranea and Tianjin Oriental’s Visio, the first at the northern Chinese port this season.
The dual deployment follows a timeframe where the homeport’s capacity was dominated by single-ship trials.
Adora Cruises’ Adora Mediterranea started its 2026 Tianjin homeport season in mid-June, operating five- and six-day itineraries in South Korea from the port.
The vessel, which completed a 10-day drydock at Zhoushan’s COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry in early May and subsequently operated a “Sea Film Festival” themed sailing from Qingdao on May 21, has sailed north to Tianjin as part of Adora’s seasonal deployment program.
The Tianjin program runs through October, with 25 sailings scheduled between June 7 and October 11.
The Visio, operated by Tianjin Oriental, has been deployed from both Dalian and Tianjin this season. The ship made its Dalian maiden call on May 12 as the first 100,000-ton-plus cruise ship to homeport in Northeast China.
It has since transitioned into overlapping Tianjin sailings, giving the port a second big ship alongside the Adora Mediterranea. The Visio’s Tianjin five-day itineraries are similarly structured around South Korea.
The two-ship homeport program is expected to continue through early October, after which deployment adjustments, particularly for the Adora Mediterranea, may follow the company’s broader China deployment cycle, including Guangzhou/Nansha for the Adora Flora City, which is set for delivery in November.
