Saga has announced that its fourth river ship, the Spirit of the Lorelei, launching in July 2027, will spend her maiden season sailing the Rhine, Main and Danube.
The company said in a blog that the newbuild’s design features rich, earthy colors.
The inaugural voyage will pass the Lorelei Rock, the inspiration for the new ship’s name.
This seven-night sailing, departing on July 1, sails the Dutch waterways along the Rhine into the Middle Rhine Gorge.
The itinerary will feature Rotterdam, Zaandam, Cologne, the Middle Rhine Gorge and Mainz.
Europe via the Rhine, Main and Danube
The ship will offer a 14-day sailing across stretches of Europe’s waterways on the “Rhine, Main and Danube Explorer” voyage.
The sailing will depart from Koblenz and feature the Main, Nuremberg, Regensburg, the Wachau Valley, a day in the Slovak capital, Bratislava and the Danube Bend.
Three Cities in One Cruise
The “City Explorer: Budapest, Bratislava and Vienna” cruise features a day to explore Buda Castle and St Stephen’s Basilica, before setting sail for Esztergom. Guests will enjoy a full day in Bratislava, then sail overnight to Vienna.
The Eastern Danube from Budapest to the Balkans
This nine-night cruise is a round-trip from Budapest, heading into the Balkans as far as Romania and back. Highlights include Belgrade, Novi Sad, and the Iron Gates Gorge.
Celebrate Christmas on the Danube
In addition, the Spirit of the Lorelei will be offering a 14-night “Christmas and New Year” cruise round-trip from Budapest.
The cruise embarks from the Hungarian capital and features two half days in Bratislava before sailing to Krems, followed by a Christmas Day feast onboard.
Guests will then sail into Germany, visiting Passau and Vilshofen, the Bavarian Forest National Park and then spend New Year’s Eve in Vienna.
