The Port of Lisbon recorded its best June ever for overall cruise activity, both in passenger numbers and ship calls.

In June, 81,735 cruise passengers passed through Lisbon, representing a 53 percent increase compared to June 2025 and surpassing the previous June record of 2024, which stood at 60,922 passengers.

The total number of calls rose to 37, which is 32 percent higher than in the same period last year and the highest figure ever recorded for the month of June.

At 21 calls, transit calls also surpassed the 2023 record of 19.

In addition to the absolute passenger record, the Port of Lisbon received 54,885 transit passengers, 32 percent more than in June 2025.

The turnaround business came in at 26,850 passengers, growing by 125 percent. It was also the best June ever here, surpassing the previous June record of 2024 (23,090).

According to a statement, the historic result stemmed from a very significant increase in homeport operations, with embarked passengers increasing from 6,166 to 13,425 (118 percent) and disembarked from 5,747 to 13,425 (134 percent).

This follows a successful first half of the year, during which the Port of Lisbon recorded:

• 165 calls (+5 percent)
• 302,496 passengers (+5 percent)
• 217,047 transit passengers (+4 percent)
• 85,449 turnaround passengers (+7 percent)

This is also said to be an indicator of reduced seasonality and a more even distribution of cruise calls throughout the year.

In addition, eight ships made their maiden calls during the first half of the year. One that stood out was the Orient Express Corinthian, visiting Lisbon in May as part of its inaugural cruise.
