Norwegian Cruise Line adjusted the itinerary on an upcoming cruise of the Norwegian Bliss to make time for required maintenance to its propulsion system.
According to a statement sent to booked guests, the vessel’s July 11, 2026, departure was affected by the work.
Sailing from Seattle, the 2018-built ship is scheduled to offer a seven-night cruise to destinations in Alaska and Canada.
“The Norwegian Bliss is currently completing required maintenance on a propulsion component that is being replaced with care,” Norwegian explained.
“The safety of our guests and crew is always our top priority, and while this maintenance does not have an impact on the safety of the vessel, the ship will operate at a slightly reduced speed while this work is finalized,” the company continued.
“With this in mind, we’ve refined the timing of our visits to Sitka, Juneau, Icy Strait Point and Ketchikan to keep your experience feeling smooth and well-paced throughout the journey,” Norwegian added.
Additionally, the cruise’s planned visit to Victoria will now be a technical stop, which means that the Norwegian Bliss will only dock at the Canadian port to meet regulatory requirements.
As a result, passengers will not be able to disembark the ship during the one-hour visit, Norwegian explained.
“We understand that itinerary changes can affect your travel plans, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and flexibility,” the company continued.
Initially scheduled to dock at 10:00 AM on July 13, 2026, the Norwegian Bliss will now arrive in Sitka at 11:30 AM. The ship’s departure time is still set for 6:00 PM.
The cruise’s visit to Juneau was also shortened and will now start at 7:00 AM instead of 6:30 AM before ending as scheduled at 1:30 PM.
Passengers will have less time in Icy Strait Point and Ketchikan as well, with the Norwegian Bliss now leaving both ports half an hour ahead of the original schedule.
“As a gesture of appreciation, and genuine acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused by this adjustment, we have arranged for a $100 non-refundable onboard credit per stateroom,” Norwegian said.
The company added that shore excursions booked through Norwegian for Victoria will be automatically cancelled and refunded to their original form of payment.
