Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH) hosted a community event to celebrate the completion of a new maritime-inspired mural in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood.

Created by local artist Shogo Ota, the mural located at 55 Bell Street reflects the connection between Seattle’s waterfront, maritime heritage and its local community, according to a press release.

Organized in partnership with the Port of Seattle, the event was attended by representatives from the Port of Seattle, NCLH, local government and community members.

“NCLH’s contribution to this mural festival reflects our long-standing connection to the neighborhood our ships have called home for more than two decades, said Sandi Weir, VP of government relations and public affairs at NCLH.

“We are grateful to Shogo Ota for creating a work of art that beautifully captures the maritime spirit of Belltown and connects land and sea.”

The event also recognized NCLH’s $30,000 donation to Belltown United, a volunteer-led organization dedicated to making the neighborhood a thriving place to live and do business.

The donation helped fund the Belltown Mural Festival, which commissioned new murals, supported local artists, hosted free family-friendly community events and enhanced public spaces throughout the neighborhood.

In 2026, the festival featured more than 20 artists creating 15 new murals, four major community events, with more than 1,000 people in attendance.
