Ponant’s Le Boreal made its first visit to the Bodrum Cruise Port earlier this month, according to an update shared by the port.
Local authorities, port officials and ship officers gathered onboard to celebrate the occasion with a plaque exchange ceremony.
“This special occasion marks another important milestone for Bodrum as a premier cruise destination in the Eastern Mediterranean and reflects the strong partnership between our port and the global cruise industry,” the Bodrum Cruise Port stated.
“We extend our sincere appreciation to the captain, officers, and crew for their warm hospitality and wish them a safe and pleasant voyage,” it added.
As part of its summer season in the Mediterranean, Le Boreal is currently offering itineraries to the Greek Islands and Turkey.
Sailing from Piraeus and Istanbul, its seven- to 12-night cruises include visits to a wide range of destinations in the Aegean.
The 260-passenger vessel is scheduled to sail to lesser-visited ports in the region, such as Hydra, Symi, Bozcaada and Amorgos.
Later this month, the ship is scheduled to reposition to the Western Mediterranean for itineraries that focus on the French and Italian Rivieras.
The vessel will then operate a trans-Atlantic crossing to Argentina in October, ahead of a winter season offering expedition cruises to Antarctica.
As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, Bodrum expects to host 119 cruise calls in 2026, welcoming approximately 140,000 passengers.
In addition to Le Boreal, the port will welcome another 18 maiden calls through the end of the season, which is also highlighted by visits from high-end cruise lines.
The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Four Seasons Yachts, Ponant and Emerald Cruises are among the luxury brands visiting the Bodrum Cruise Port this year. Other developments this season include the arrivals of Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady and AIDA Cruises’ AIDAblu.
