Holland America Removes Mexican Port from Koningsdam Itinerary

Koningsdam in San Diego

Holland America Line is removing a visit to the Mexican Port of Loreto from Koningsdam’s November 28, 2026, departure.

According to a notice sent to booked guests, the change is related to a government restriction on cruise ships.

Part of a ten-night cruise to the Mexican Riviera, the visit to Loreto was scheduled to take place on December 2, 2026.

With the removal of the stop at the port, the Koningsdam is now set for an overnight stay in Puerto Vallarta.

According to Holland America, the ship will arrive at the Mexican destination a day earlier than planned, setting sail as scheduled on December 5, 2026.

To accommodate the change, a scheduled call to Mazatlán will take place one day earlier, on December 3, 2026.

Sailing from San Diego, Koningsdam’s itinerary also features visits to La Paz and Cabo San Lucas before returning to California.

The sailing is part of the vessel’s 2026-27 winter deployment in the Mexican Riviera, the West Coast and Hawaii.

Currently offering summer cruises in Alaska from Vancouver, the Koningsdam is scheduled to reposition to San Diego in October.

The 2,660-passenger ship is then set to offer a series of seven- to 18-night cruises to an array of destinations, including Puerto Vallarta, Catalina Island and Honolulu.

Other highlights of the deployment include a seven-night cruise to destinations in California, which is scheduled to visit San Francisco, Ensenada and Catalina Island.

The Koningsdam is also scheduled to offer a 35-night cruise to the South Pacific and French Polynesia in early 2027.

Sailing roundtrip from San Diego, the month-long itinerary is part of Holland America’s Legendary Voyages program and includes visits to ten destinations.

Featuring extended stays and overnight calls in key ports, the cruise will visit four ports in Hawaii, one in Kiribati and five in French Polynesia, including Tahiti and Nuku Hiva.
