Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines will sail an 87-night Grand Voyage to the Amazon and Antarctica in 2028.

The “Amazon & Antarctica Adventure” will see the Borealis depart Southampton on January 5, 2028, calling at 28 ports across 17 countries and five continents.

The voyage goes on sale on July 22, with prices starting from £10,999, according to a press release.

“This is our first return to the Amazon for nine years, and has been designed to offer something truly distinctive, with scenic cruising along one of the world’s greatest rivers, bringing guests closer to the rainforest and its diverse wildlife, from colorful birdlife to pink river dolphins,” said Martin Lister, head of product innovation at Fred. Olsen.

“In contrast, Antarctica offers the chance to experience a region few ever visit, with three days of scenic cruising past ice-strewn waters, vast glaciers and snow-capped peaks. Combined with time in some of South America’s most iconic cities and across the Caribbean, this is a journey designed to offer both depth and variety, with memorable experiences throughout.”

The ship heads from Southampton to Tenerife, crossing the Atlantic to explore the Caribbean, followed by cruising the Amazon River in Brazil, and overnight stay in Rio de Janeiro, as well as calling at Puerto Madryn, Argentina, and Punta Arenas, Chile.

The journey then rounds Cape Horn, before cruising the Antarctic Peninsula for three days, visiting destinations such as the Falkland Islands; Montevideo, Uruguay, and staying overnight in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The ship then returns to Southampton via Salvador, Brazil; Mindelo, Cape Verde; Las Palmas, Gran Canaria and La Coruña, Spain.

Bookings made by August 19, 2026, can take advantage of the company’s Fare Price Promise, offering the reassurance that the cruise will not be available at a better price within the first four weeks of going on sale.

During this period, solo guests can also get a selection of cabins with no single supplement.
