Emerald Cruises will operate a specialty rum-themed sailing aboard the Emerald Sakara in 2027, the cruise line said in a statement.
Departing March 13, 2027, the seven-night “Quintessential Caribbean with Rum Sommelier Alejandro Ferris” voyage will take guests on an immersive journey from St. Thomas to San Juan.
Hosted by Rum Sommelier Alejandro Ferris and featuring exclusive rum tastings and educational experiences, the voyage will acquaint guests with the birthplace of this spirit.

“This specialty sailing combines the intimacy of luxury yacht cruising with one of the Caribbean’s most iconic cultural traditions, allowing guests to explore the region through its history, people and extraordinary flavors.”
Guests will visit locations including Cruz Bay on St. John, the volcanic landscapes of Nevis, the waterfront of Deshaies in Guadeloupe, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Nelson’s Dockyard in Antigua, St. Barths and Virgin Gorda.
Throughout the voyage, Ferris will lead exclusive tastings, educational presentations and conversations exploring the evolution of Caribbean rum, from centuries-old distilling traditions to today’s premium expressions.
