Clarivette Diaz Promoted to GPH Regional Director, Latin America

Clarivette Diaz

Global Ports Holding (GPH) has promoted Clarivette Diaz to the role of regional director, Latin America (LATAM), effective July 1, 2026.

According to a statement, the new role entails leading GPH’s strategic growth initiatives with an initial focus on Mexico while supporting the company’s broader expansion across Spanish-speaking markets in the region.

Meanwhile, Diaz will continue to serve as general manager of San Juan Cruise Port while taking on expanded regional responsibilities that will support GPH’s regional growth through collaboration with cruise lines, government authorities and regional stakeholders.

“Clarivette has demonstrated outstanding leadership, commercial vision and an exceptional ability to build strong partnerships across both the public and private sectors,” said Mike Maura, Jr. regional director, Americas, GPH.

“Her promotion reflects not only her achievements in San Juan but also the confidence we have in her ability to help drive GPH’s continued growth across Latin America. As we continue to strengthen our presence across the Americas, her leadership will play an important role in supporting our strategic priorities across the region.”

Diaz brings more than 17 years of experience in the maritime and logistics sectors, starting her career with Tropical Shipping in 2008. After a series of leadership positions, she was appointed island manager for the Port of San Juan.

In 2023, she joined Puerto Rico Terminals, an affiliate of Tropical Shipping, as general manager and then a year later, she became GPH’s general manager of San Juan Cruise Port.

“I am honored to take on this new responsibility at such an exciting time for Global Ports Holding. Latin America presents significant opportunities for sustainable growth, and I look forward to working with our teams, cruise line partners and local stakeholders to build on GPH’s success, strengthen our regional presence and help unlock new opportunities for cruise tourism throughout Latin America,” noted Diaz.
