Century Cruises will debut two Egypt itineraries aboard the Sunrise Terramar in 2027, the company said in a statement. 

The move, which was tentatively announced in April, is said to follow years of planning and growing demand from returning guests looking to experience another of the world’s great rivers.

As demand grows, the company anticipates further expansion of its Nile River program with additional departures and new vessels in the coming years.

“Our guests have been asking us for years if we’d ever bring the Century experience to the Nile. We took that feedback seriously,” said David Fredericks, president and general manager of Century Cruises.

“Egypt is one of the world’s most extraordinary destinations, and we wanted to create an experience that reflects everything Century Cruises stands for – beautiful ships, exceptional service, authentic cultural experiences, and outstanding value. This is just the beginning, and we look forward to growing our presence on the Nile with additional departures and new vessels in the years ahead.”

The new itineraries are:

• The 11-day “Treasures of the Nile,” taking guests from Cairo to Luxor with a focus on the country’s ancient history and cultural heritage. 

• The 15-day “Legends of Egypt,” offering the same Nile cruise experience, paired with a four-day extension in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada.

Cruise packages include round-trip airfare from the United States, private transfers, three nights in Cairo, seven nights aboard the Terramar, guided sightseeing, gourmet dining, complimentary beer and wine during lunch and dinner and a selection of included shore excursions.

The extended 15-day itinerary also includes transfers to Hurghada, a three-night resort stay, daily excursions, meals and transportation back to Cairo.

The cruises will be complemented by lectures exploring Egypt’s history and the significance of the Nile, as well as shore excursions designed to offer authentic cultural immersion.
