Star Clippers Highlights World Ocean Month with Select Itneraries

Star Clippers Highlights World Ocean Month

This World Ocean Month, Star Clippers has encouraged travelers to celebrate the seas with its marine-focused itineraries.

The company said that World Ocean Month, celebrated in June, serves as a meaningful reminder of the responsibility shared by travelers and the tourism industry alike.

Officially observed each year on June 8 as World Oceans Day, the month unites communities around the globe in support of healthier oceans and sustainable practices, the company stated in a press release.

Throughout June, educational initiatives and conservation activities highlight the ocean’s impact on biodiversity, climate and coastal communities.

“Travel has the power to inspire a deeper connection to the places we visit,” said Terri Haas, Star Clippers’ VP of sales and marketing for the Americas.

“At Star Clippers, the ocean isn’t simply a backdrop to the journey; it is at the heart of the experience. World Ocean Month is an opportunity to celebrate these extraordinary ecosystems while reinforcing the importance of protecting them,” added Haas.

The company said that travelers inspired to celebrate World Ocean Month firsthand can explore its Star Clippers itineraries featuring marine environments.

Highlighted itineraries are as follows:

Caribbean

  • Windward Islands
  • Grenadine Islands
  • Treasure Islands, and
  • Leeward Islands.

Costa Rica and Panama

Mediterranean

  • Malta, Balearics and Spain
  • Croatia and Montenegro, and
  • The Amalfi Coast and Sicily.

Star Clippers said that marine environments around the world continue to face increasing pressures from pollution, habitat degradation, climate change and unsustainable practices.

It added that environmental awareness is woven naturally into the sailing experience itself: guests may watch dolphins ride the bow wake, swim in anchorages, snorkel above reef systems, or stand on deck beneath the stars.

“These moments foster a deeper appreciation for the environments that make such experiences possible,” the company said.
