Ponant Explorations has unveiled its 2028 Arctic season, which is now open for booking.
Sailing from May to October 2028, the season will feature more than 35 departures operated by four ships.
The itineraries will be accompanied by polar activities including guided excursions, hiking, polar plunging, kayaking and more, as well as wildlife sightings, Ponant said in a press release.
The departures will cover the following regions:
The Geographic North Pole
Eight departures aboard Le Commandant Charcot will be available between June and September 2028, with flights included between Paris and Longyearbyen.
One of the highlights includes sailing through pack ice and along the fjords and glaciers of Svalbard.
Another is an 18-night voyage combining a visit to the North Pole with two stops in northern Greenland.
Greenland, the Baffin Sea and the Northwest Passage
From May through August 2028, Ponant offers a collection of voyages exploring Greenland, Baffin Bay and the Northwest Passage.
The itineraries are designed to access some of the Arctic’s most remote and least-visited regions.
Highlights include the Thule region and Disko Bay, home to the largest icebergs in the northern hemisphere, as well as encounters with Inuit communities in their villages.
Svalbard
A dedicated Svalbard program will run from June through July 2028.
In June, Ponant will sail its classic seven-night itineraries showcasing the highlights of Spitsbergen.
In July, a full circumnavigation of Spitsbergen returns for the first time since 2021.
Iceland
A series of destination-specific itineraries offering deeper exploration of Iceland will be available from June to July 2028.
These voyages include calls to the islands of Grímsey and Heimaey, alongside a full day in Reykjavík.
Guests can experience the country’s varied landscapes, from volcanic plateaus and basalt formations to waterfalls, geysers and fjords, with one excursion per guest included daily.
North America
Guests can explore Canada and the northeastern United States from August through October 2028.
There will be guided visits to sites including L’Anse aux Meadows, Old Québec, Lunenburg and Gros Morne National Park.
Additional ports of call include Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Montréal, Eastport and Martha’s Vineyard.
