The MSC Bellissima will resume operations from Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal on August 1, 2026, as the company is gearing up for its summer and autumn deployment in China which includes calls in Japan, South Korea and regional ports.
The Bellissima’s re-entry marks MSC’s return to China’s core homeport after a pause during which the company focused on Southeast Asia and repositioning deployments. Its return to China’s busiest cruise port also puts a second major international ship back into Shanghai alongside Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas.
Industry schedules suggest that the Bellissima will operate in Shanghai during the summer and early autumn season, then reposition in late October/early November.
Port schedules and agency listings showthat the Bellissima will operate four- to seven-night sailings featuring Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Busan and Jeju, with occasional longer regional combinations.
The August 1 sailing is a five-night roundtrip sailing to Shanghai, Kitakyushu, Busan and Shanghai.
The sailing comes as other cruise companies adjust their Japan exposure: Royal Caribbean has kept Japan calls in the Spectrum’s schedule, while Adora recently reinstated a December Japan call for the Magic City, suggesting a reopening of Japan destinations across parts of the homeport fleet.
