Holland America Line’s Volendam recently arrived in Montreal to kick off its summer season in Canada and New England.

Concluding a repositioning voyage that started in Fort Lauderdale, the 1999-built ship arrived at the Canadian port in late May.

The Volendam is now offering seven- to 12-night cruises to a wide range of destinations in the region, such as Quebec City, Saguenay, Sept-Iles and Havre-Saint-Pierre.

Other ports of call set to be visited include Corner Brook, St. Anthony, Halifax, Eastport, Sydney, St. Pierre and Miquelon, Îles de la Madeleine and more.

The season runs through early October and also includes a special 28-night cruise to Canada, Greenland and Iceland sailing roundtrip from Boston.

Taking place later this month, the Legendary Voyage is highlighted by visits to eight destinations in the Arctic region, such as Nanortalik, Qaqortoq and Djupivogur.

Upon completing its schedule in North America’s East Coast, the Volendam is scheduled to reposition to New York for a longer Legendary Voyage.

The 45-night “Ultimate Mediterranean & Atlantic Passage” sails roundtrip from the U.S. and includes visits to 21 destinations in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Malta and Tunisia.

In addition to the Volendam, the Zuiderdam is also scheduled to operate summer itineraries in Canada and New England for Holland America this year.

The larger ship offers seven- to 14-night cruises between the ports of Boston and Quebec City through late October.

In early July, the Zuiderdam is also scheduled to offer a special seven-night cruise to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The itinerary will include a late departure from Boston on July 4 with the ship positioned for a view of the city’s skyline and fireworks display from a distance.

Sailing roundtrip from the homeport in Massachusetts, the cruise will also feature an overnight visit to New York City, as well as calls to Norfolk and Saint John.
