Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced that dance legends Arlene Phillips and Ian Waite will headline a curated dance-themed sailing, a first for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, this year.
Setting sail from Southampton aboard the Borealis in December, this five-night cruise will bring together a mix of dance from ballroom, Latin and sequence, as well as tap and line-dancing.
Olivier award-winning Dame Arlene Phillips, one of the UK’s most celebrated choreographers, and Ian Waite, professional dancer and television personality, will be the headline acts, hosting “An Audience With” sessions and meet‑and‑greet events with guests.
Waite will also host a dance masterclass during the cruise, the company said in a press release.
Doug Glenwright, guest experience director at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said: “This is set to be a very special cruise as it’s a first for us at Fred. Olsen — our inaugural dance-themed cruise.”
“Whether you’re a seasoned professional, taking your first steps on the dance floor, or prefer to sit back and enjoy the performances, there will be something for every level of confidence as we dance our way into the festive season,” added Glenwright.
Ashore, guests can enjoy Amsterdam and Honfleur. Highlights in Amsterdam include the annual Light Festival, ice skating, traditional stalls and the chance to sample stroopwafels and mulled wine.
In Honfleur, there will be cobbled streets, colorful timber-framed houses and a picturesque harbor to explore.
The Borealis’ five-night S2631a “A Celebration of Dance at Sea” cruise departs from Southampton on December 13, 2026. Prices start at £499 per person.
The itinerary is as follows: Southampton, UK – Amsterdam, Netherlands – Honfleur, France – Southampton, UK.
Guests who book by June 30 (inclusive) can take advantage of Fred. Olsen’s Freedom Fare Price Promise.
Guests who book by July 30 can also take advantage of a half-price premium drinks package for £22 per person, per night.
