The 68th MedCruise General Assembly officially began in Palermo, Italy, on June 9, 2026, according to a press release.
Hosted and co-organized by the Port System Authority of the Sea of Western Sicily, the event runs until June 12.
It brings together MedCruise members, cruise line executives, associate members, media representatives and key industry stakeholders for four days of strategic dialogue, networking and collaboration.
Over 240 participants, including representatives from 27 cruise companies, are expected to be in attendance this year, with more than 700 B2B meetings taking place between MedCruise members and cruise line executives over the course of the event.
Topics will include the impact of geopolitical developments on cruise deployment and Mediterranean itineraries and the transformation of cruise operations and passenger expectations over the past three decades.
Other topics discussed will include the evolution of communication in an increasingly digital and AI-driven environment and the growing role of Mediterranean destinations in balancing tourism growth, sustainability and local identity.
Emphasis will also be placed on accessibility, innovation and strategic relationship management as key drivers of a more connected and resilient cruise ecosystem.
The MedCruise State of the Industry Report will also be presented during the event, offering insights into the latest trends, market developments and operational dynamics shaping the cruise sector across the Mediterranean and its adjoining seas.
The event coincides with MedCruise celebrating three decades of operation, so a gala dinner will be hosted to celebrate both the General Assembly and the association’s 30th anniversary.
