Windstar Launches New Flexible Booking Policy for 2026-27

Windstar Cruises announced the launch of its new Peace of Mind Promise, which is said to give guests flexibility when booking eligible 2026 and 2027 sailings.

According to a press release, the policy was designed as a response to ongoing travel uncertainty and includes full-itinerary protection.

“Unlike most flexible booking programs that cover only the cruise fare, Windstar’s Peace of Mind Promise protects the entire Windstar-booked journey, including cruise, shore excursions, hotels, air and transfers,” the company explained.

Windstar added that the promise allows passengers to cancel up to seven days prior to departure and retain the majority of their trip value as a Future Cruise Credit, making it easier to rebook when the time is right.

The benefit is automatically included at no additional cost on eligible sailings departing through March 31, 2027, and applies to both new reservations and existing bookings already under deposit.

The company also highlighted a limited-time complimentary All-Inclusive offer, available for bookings through June 30, 2026, that includes Wi-Fi, gratuities and select beverages.

“Travelers are paying close attention to the headlines as they plan their vacations, and advisors need flexibility and reassurance when helping clients book with confidence,” said Chief Commercial Officer Janet Bava.

“Our new Peace of Mind program gives guests the ability to secure today’s best offers while knowing their investment is protected through March 2027. From Alaska and the Mediterranean to French Polynesia, advisors can confidently match clients with the right sailing, backed by added booking flexibility and support,” she added.

Windstar’s press release highlighted its itineraries for 2026-27, which include a series of cruises in Alaska, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, as well as Asia and the South Pacific.

The company also noted that, unlike other programs, the Peace of Mind Promise covers the full Windstar-booked itinerary and offers Future Cruise Credits valid for 24 months.

For travelers looking for additional security, Windstar also offers optional Travel Protection, which can be added at the time of booking.

“This comprehensive plan is designed to protect guests from the moment they book to the moment they return home, including coverage for medical expenses abroad, covered trip interruptions, luggage delays and more,” the company explained.

According to Bava, industry data has consistently shown U.S. travelers shortening booking windows and prioritizing cancellation flexibility before committing to international itineraries.

The Peace of Mind Promise applies not only to new bookings but also to existing reservations sailing through March 2027, once final payment is made.

“With the Peace of Mind Promise, advisors can confidently recommend Windstar knowing their clients have flexibility built in, plus the option of additional insurance coverage when appropriate,” she added.
