Viking has opened bookings for its 2028–29 expedition voyages. 

The season features newly released departure dates across itineraries in the Arctic, Antarctica and the Great Lakes, Viking said in a press release. 

Operating the expanded expedition offerings in the polar regions are the Viking Octantis and her sister ship, the Viking Polaris.

Itineraries include: 

Into the Antarctic Circle (15 days; Buenos Aires – Ushuaia) – This voyage crosses the 66°33′ line of latitude into the Antarctic Circle. Guests can explore by Zodiac, kayak amidst the ice flows and participate in scientific studies.  

Arctic to Antarctic Explorer (81 days; Nuuk – Ushuaia) – This journey traces the shores of Greenland, the Americas and Antarctica, past icebergs and mountains of the Canadian High Arctic before sailing toward the Bahamas. 

After exploring the western coast of South America, the ship reaches Antarctica. 

Great Lakes Treasures (10 days; roundtrip Milwaukee) – This exploration of the largest freshwater system in the world includes visits to islands of the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve, Flowerpot Island in the Fathom Five National Marine Park and pink granite isles of the Benjamin Islands.  

Into the Northwest Passage (13 days; roundtrip Nuuk) – This voyage allows guests to immerse themselves in Inuit customs and traditions and see the peaks of Greenland as well as the glaciers of the Canadian High Arctic. 

Antarctic Explorer (13 days; Buenos Aires – Ushuaia) – This journey to the Antarctic Peninsula, with its icebergs and glaciers, lets guests walk in the footsteps of famous explorers in what Viking describes as the last truly wild frontier. 

Great Lakes Collection (15 days; Toronto – Duluth) – Sailing across the waterways of all five Great Lakes, this voyage allows guests to see the surrounding cities and the Niagara Falls. 

Longitudinal World Cruise IV (62 days; Milwaukee to Ushuaia) – After embarking in Milwaukee, this longitudinal voyage from north to south explores diverse landscapes, from Chile’s fjords to North America’s cities.
