TUI has selected three godmothers who will christen Mein Schiff Flow, the latest ship to join its fleet.
In a press release, the cruise line said the three godmothers represent three generations and come from different walks of life: Julia is 20, Annabelle 35 and Karin 67.
All three have previously traveled with TUI, which was one of the requirements for the application process – with Annabelle completing 25 and Karin 50 cruises.
“When people connect their stories with TUI Cruises, it creates more than just a vacation. It creates a sense of belonging across generations,” said TUI CEO Wybcke Meier.
“Ultimately, it was clear that we wanted three strong personalities who, in their individual facets, together as a team, are a perfect match for the Mein Schiff Flow and represent the diversity of our guests.”
Designer Guido Maria Kretschmer delivered the news to the new godmothers and outfits from his Couture collection to wear at the ceremony.
A total of around 900 candidates applied and 15,000 votes from Mein Schiff fans were received, TUI added.
The christening ceremony will take place on June 20 at the port of Trieste, with the christening program featuring live acts, music and art performances.
While the ship was originally scheduled to sail in the Arabian Gulf, it will move to sail from German homeports for the winter due to the geopolitical situation.
