Three cruise ships had their inaugural calls at Victoria May 9–10, the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (GVHA) announced in a press release.

On Saturday evening, the Star Princess arrived for the first of 21 calls into Victoria this summer.

Since the cruise terminal is located on the traditional territory of the lək̓ʷəŋən People, the ship was welcomed by Chief Jerome Thomas of Esquimalt Nation.

The following morning, Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady arrived. This is its first time the ship is in Alaska, and it is set to return to Victoria for two more calls later this summer.

Also arriving on Sunday was Silversea’s Silver Nova.

The two ships were welcomed by Councilor Jeannie George of Songhees Nation.

Mayor of Victoria Marianne Alto and Destination Greater Victoria CEO Paul Nursey also joined the welcome group for the Brilliant Lady.

With a record 335 calls scheduled for this year, Victoria expects that just over one million passengers will pass through the port during the 2026 cruise season.

The first ship to arrive in April was the Nieuw Amsterdam, on April 10.
