Royal Caribbean Changes Legend of the Seas Itinerary

Legend of the Seas

Royal Caribbean International has changed the itinerary of a cruise that is set to take place onboard the Legend of the Seas starting on July 25, 2026.

As part of its inaugural season in Europe, the new Icon-class vessel is scheduled to offer an eight-night voyage to the Western Mediterranean.

According to a statement sent to booked guests, the ship will replace a visit to the Spanish port of Alicante with a visit to La Spezia in Italy.

“While planning our upcoming adventure, we want to make you aware of some changes to your itinerary,” Royal Caribbean said.

“From time to time, updates are necessary as we finalize scheduling, port arrangements, and operational details,” the company continued.

“As a result of a recent review, your sailing has been updated to make the most of your adventure,” Royal Caribbean added.

The company noted that the change allows guests more time to explore the destination, adding that visiting times for other ports were also updated.

In addition to the new destination in Italy, the Legend of the Seas is also scheduled to call at Málaga, Palma de Mallorca and Naples before arriving in Civitavecchia.

Royal Caribbean also noted that guests will be tendered ashore in La Spezia, a port that serves as a getaway for tours to Florence and Pisa.

“Tenders are accessible to guests who use collapsible wheelchairs and who can take a few steps,” the company explained.

Full-time mobility scooter or wheelchair users who are unable to take a few steps may be unable to go ashore, Royal Caribbean added.

Currently under construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, the Legend of the Seas is scheduled to enter service in early July.

As the third ship in the company’s Icon-class, the LNG-powered vessel will spend its inaugural season in the Western Mediterranean before repositioning to Port Everglades for the 2026-27 winter season.
