Port of San Diego Introduces Live Vessel Schedule

Port of San Diego

The Port of San Diego has launched a new online schedule for cargo and cruise ships.

Updated in real time, PortControl allows users to see arrival and departure times of cargo vessels, check which vessels are currently in port, as well as view cruise ship schedules.

According to a press release, the tool will help promote safety, transparency and overall awareness of the daily maritime activity occurring at the Port of San Diego.

The increased visibility is expected to play an important role in preventing conflicts with local marine events.

Since the Port of San Diego is the fourth largest port in California, the tool will also help glean insight into the role the region plays in tourism, global trade and the movement of goods and people around the world.
